Asuncion, IP Agency.- For four days of comprehensive medical care, medical consultations, dental care, vaccinations, ultrasounds and other services were provided to indigenous communities with difficult access in the department of Boquerón.
The care was provided by an interdisciplinary team made up of the regional technical team and the extended USF La Patria, with the support of Senepa, the Cuida Chagas Program and the team of Park Rangers from the Lt. Agripo Enciso National Park.
The activity was organized by the XVI Sanitary Region of Boquerón, with the aim of providing medical care to residents of the most remote indigenous communities, including: Pykasu, Ñu Guasu, Siracua and Santa Rosa, located in the border area with Bolivia, northwest of Chaco.
During the four days, various health services were provided, including general medical consultations for children and adults with various pathologies; dental consultations for basic and specialized dental care; as well as vaccination, an immunization campaign for disease prevention.
Ultrasounds were also performed, with diagnostic imaging for various medical needs and milk was delivered from the Comprehensive Nutritional Food Program (PANI); in addition to the distribution of nutritional food for children in the communities and Chagas tests, with diagnostic tests for women of childbearing age.
The importance of this type of activity is to guarantee access to health for the most vulnerable populations, especially in remote and hard-to-reach areas, promoting preventive health and the comprehensive well-being of indigenous communities in Paraguay.
