Pakistan Super League (PSL) Karachi Kings defeated Lahore Qalandars by two wickets after a thrilling encounter in a match played on Saturday 9th.
Team Qalandars, who failed continuously in the 10th match of the league played at Gaddafi Stadium, entered the field in search of victory.
Karachi Kings won the toss Qalandars was invited to bat first, he made 175 for the loss of six wickets with the help of a brilliant 72 runs from the not out opener Sahibzada Farhan.
Farhan pulled the team out of trouble first with Ross van der Deusen (26 runs) and then with George Linde in the last overs.
He hit four fours and four sixes off 45 balls. Linde played an aggressive innings of 26 runs off 13 balls.
Qalandars scored 61 runs for the loss of one wicket in the last five overs. The rest of his batsmen could not cope with Karachi’s bowling line-up.
Fakhar Zaman scored six runs, Shai Hope scored 21 runs, Jahandad Khan scored 12 runs and Ahsan Hafeez scored eight runs. Karachi’s Hasan Ali, Mirhamza and Tabriz Shamsi took two wickets each.

The Karachi team did not get off to a good start chasing 176 runs and four of their batsmen returned to the pavilion for 44 runs in six overs.
Captain Shaan Masood was run out after scoring 10 runs in the third over. In the next three overs, wicket-keeper batsman Mohammad Akhlaq was dismissed for seven runs, James Vince for eight runs and Mohammad Nawaz for 15 runs.

With four wickets falling for 44 runs, senior batsmen Shoaib Malik and Kieron Pollard took charge of the innings and took the score to 139 for no further loss and tightened their grip on the match.
However, in the 16th over, Shaheen Shah Afridi dismissed Pollard, who scored 58 runs off 33 balls with the help of one four and five sixes.
Shoaib Malik (39 runs) stuck at the other end in the 17th over was also dismissed by Haris Rauf.
After the departure of Pollard and Shoaib, the match became sensational and in the last two overs, Karachi needed 19 runs to win with four wickets to spare.
Fakhar Zaman conceded just eight runs in the second last over apart from bowling Daniel Simms on a beautiful yorker.
Thus, Karachi needed 11 runs in the last over, which they got on the last ball.
Zaman of Lahore took two wickets while Shaheen, Ahsan Hafeez, Jahandad Khan and Haris Rauf took one wicket each.
