Police: Rocker clash on tank was accidental encounter

This is the assessment from Nordjylland’s Police, who at the same time emphasize that there is nothing to indicate that something bigger is brewing.

– It is important to emphasize that – according to our intelligence – it was not a planned meeting, but that it was a random meeting. Nor is it our opinion that there is unrest between the groups, says deputy police inspector Sune Myrup, North Jutland Police.

Dropped weapon when police came

It was citizens who alerted the police when the 20 people associated with the two rock groups faced each other at the gas station, which is located a few hundred meters from the Comanche clubhouse on Lerbækvej.

Five patrol cars quickly came to the scene and put a lid on the escalating situation.

There was therefore no violence at any time, but the 20 people faced each other armed.

– When the patrol cars arrive at the scene, they see a number of people throwing weapons away, says Sune Myrup.

Dogs subsequently searched the area and found a number of striking weapons of various kinds – including a sledgehammer, sledgehammer, baseball and knucklebones. One person was also found in possession of a knife.

Tools as weapons

It may sound strange that the rockers had so many assault weapons on them if it was just a chance encounter.

But partly it is not uncommon for the police to see that people in the criminal environment are armed, and several of the weapons were also ordinary tools, says Sune Myrup.

It is not illegal to drive around with e.g. a hammer – but the moment it is used to threaten or to inflict violence, the hammer naturally becomes a weapon.

The police investigation must now try to find out whether some of the weapons found can be linked to certain people, who will therefore be presented with a charge.
