Medina’s goal was scored at 12:05 (Argentine time) and the referee determined that it should be annulled for offside, via VAR, after 14:00. Seconds later, the match resumed.
After three more minutes of added time, Nyberg finally blew the final whistle, declaring a 2-1 victory for the Moroccans in this match that marked the formal inauguration of the activity in Paris 2024, but will go down in history for a completely anomalous situation.
