Asuncion, IP Agency.- The Government of Paraguay celebrates the signing of the Commercial Conditions Agreement between the companies ATOME and Yara for the production and marketing of fertilizers renewable energy derivatives with low environmental impact.
In a statement from the Presidency of the Republic, the Government stressed that this step was taken within the framework of the National Energy Policy and Paraguay’s commitment to sustainable development.
The foreign project, which will be installed in the city of Villeta, Paraguay, in a free zone established by the Government, foresees an investment of around USD 500 million and will use green hydrogen for the production of fertilizers.
He believes that the new investment is a sign of the Government’s determined will to support projects that generate employment and development for the benefit of Paraguayans.
In its initial phase, the project will employ more than 1,000 Paraguayan workers and produce up to 264,000 tons of fertilizer per year. This production volume will make it one of the largest renewable fertilizer production facilities in the Western Hemisphere and will position Paraguay as a key player in this sector worldwide.
“The Government of Paraguay welcomes this important investment that aligns with our vision of a sustainable country. Paraguay is a model in the region and the world in sustainable production, leading the production of 100% renewable energy and energy integration in the region. This is the model of the future, and Paraguay is one step ahead,” part of the statement says.
In this context, the Government reiterates its “commitment to continue supporting those who invest in the country, generating employment and development for the benefit of Paraguayans.”
