Asuncion, IP Agency.- Agents of the National Anti-Drug Secretariat of the Bella Vista Norte Regional Office found a place where tons of marijuana were hidden underground, in the ALPASA area, in Bella Vista Norte, Amambay department. The work of extracting the packages through the opening of a pit resulted in the discovery of 1,860 kilos of marijuana.
The officers noticed certain irregularities in the terrain so they decided to inspect it and in this way they detected that drug loads were placed underground.
After destroying the buried packages, they proceeded to remove another 200 kilos of chopped marijuana and two hectares of the growing herb. The operation thus resulted in the total destruction of approximately 8 tons of illicit product.
Senad points out that the actions of “narcotopos” have become very common, groups of traffickers who, in addition to setting up camps, choose to provide security for underground production, so patrols, in addition to the usual routes, extend greater observation to the ground in the vicinity of production centers.
This operation was carried out in parallel with other interventions in the department of Amambay and within the framework of the fight against drug production centers,

The delegation detected two hectares of marijuana crops in the growth stage, which were eradicated.
During the operation led by prosecutor Celso Morales, the seizure of a harvesting machine and a tractor with a trailer was ordered, as well as plans and documents of an aircraft with a Brazilian registration.
It is presumed that the place was being used as a base for activities related to the production and trafficking of marijuana.
