He Real Madrid CF announced on Tuesday, July 23, through an official statement, that they have become the first football club in the world to surpass one billion euros in economic income.

“Revenue for the 2023/24 season, not including player transfers, reached 1,073 million euros (9 billion quetzales), 27% more than the previous year,” the Merengue institution said on its website.

In addition, the club assured that, after having formulated the annual accounts for the season that recently ended, it maintains a “solid financial situation” with a net worth of 574 million euros (4.83 billion quetzales).

“In the sporting arena, the football team has won the Champions League title, as well as the Spanish League and Super Cup titles. As for the basketball team, it has won the Spanish League, Copa del Rey and Super Cup titles,” the club’s board of directors added.

The highest income in the world of football

Real Madrid’s income in the 2023/24 season represented an increase of 230 million euros (1,935 million quetzales) compared to 2022, and the institution managed to exceed the quota of one billion euros; a figure not reached so far by any football club.

“Through revenue growth and cost containment, the club has managed over the past 20 years, even during Covid-19, to keep the level recommended by the European Club Association under control,” the club said.
