Gregoritsch has been in charge of the ÖFB U21 team for twelve years. “Laola1” asked the 66-year-old – but he doesn’t want to hear anything about a transfer fee. “That is not the case at all,” he clarifies. On the contrary, discussions have already taken place about how things could proceed.
“I think I’m now in a position where I can decide,” Gregoritsch continues. But his focus is now on the European Championship qualifying final with his U21 team. In the next three games in the autumn, Austria must make up four points on Slovenia.
According to the report, the replacement of the 66-year-old could be just the first step in a major reform in the ÖFB. Other youth team managers could also be on the verge of being fired, and the structure of the association is also set to change. The idea for this came from team manager Ralf Rangnick.
