Girl under the age of 15 is suspected of murdering peers in Sweden

This is stated by the prosecution in a press release on Wednesday, according to the Swedish news agency TT.

The two girls knew each other, according to the prosecutors.

– We have investigated what happened and the victim’s activity before she died, says senior prosecutor Tomas Olvmyr, who leads the preliminary investigation, to TT.

– In this connection, we have found another person and assessed that she is involved.

According to the public service media SVT, the deceased is at an age when you go to the 7th to 9th grade in primary school – the Swedish “högstadiealderen”.

As the suspect is under 15, no arrest or detention has been made.

The suspect is now in the custody of the social authorities.

The prosecutor will not say how the girl relates to the suspicion, but she has not admitted to the crime.

There is no immediate further information on a possible motive.

– The information that has come to light so far is that the deceased girl and the girl who is heard about her involvement in the incident are familiar with each other from the past, says Olvmyr to SVT.

It was shortly after midnight on Tuesday night that the police found the lifeless girl during a routine patrol. Attempts were made to revive her, but to no avail.

The public prosecutor’s office considers that it is highly probable that it was a homicide due to the injuries the girl was found with and other circumstances.

– There has been serious violence against the body, Kenth Pehrsson, who is the head of the investigation for serious crimes in Helsingborg, previously told TT.

The girl could not initially be identified, but a preliminary identification has now taken place. It was initially reported that the deceased was a woman aged 25 to 30 years.
