Nicolás Maduro said on Saturday that the campaign for the presidential elections on July 28 in the country seems “global”, given the interest shown by the United States in the process, with the intention of “getting its claws” into the nation’s wealth.
During the eleventh episode of his podcast, Maduro said that “it seems like a global presidential campaign, it seems like the president of the world is being elected and not the president of Venezuela.”
He said that “the empire” is “desperate with its hatred” and “with its desire” to “get its claws” into the country’s oil, gas, gold and other riches, as well as to “destroy the revolution.”
«Network block»
On the other hand, he stated that there is a “blockade of social networks” that prevents showing “the reality” of the country, its “economic recovery, the well-being, peace and security that Venezuela has today.”
“We have a brutal censorship process,” said the president, one of the 10 candidates for the presidential elections, including the candidate of the Democratic Unitary Platform (PUD), Edmundo González Urrutia.
On Thursday, Jorge Rodríguez described the majority opposition as a “robot at the beck and call” of the US government, before which the politicians of the “extreme right,” according to the official, are “kneeling.”
The president of the National Assembly also accused this opposition bloc of wanting to hand over Venezuela’s wealth, as well as its independence and sovereignty, to the United States.
