Domenicali: The Hungarian Grand Prix is one of the most iconic venues in F1. We have laid the foundations for a beautiful future

The president of Formula 1 is very satisfied with the renewal process of the Hungaroring. Stefano Domenicali spoke to M4 Sport about the present and future of the Hungarian Grand Prix.

One year ago, Hungaroring signed a long-term contract extension with Formula 1, securing the future of the Hungarian Grand Prix. The condition of the new contract was that the facility would undergo a comprehensive renovation until 2026.

Work on this has already begun, the first phase was completed before this year’s Grand Prix weekend. Among other things, the paddock area and the fan zone were renewed, but the utility network was also modernized. After this year’s race, the second phase will also begin.

“The Hungarian Grand Prix has become one of the most iconic venues in sport thanks to its rich history. Of course, a beautiful past is not enough in life if you do not build on it the foundations of a beautiful future. And for us, together with the organizers, it was completely successful”

The goal is to provide the best environment for all interested parties and fans.

“Congratulations to the promoter and everyone else for doing an excellent job so far! Many people work dedicatedly for the sake of the cause, and that’s why we like to come here.”

We agreed with Ariané and Zsolt that it must be improved. We should never sit back, it is almost our duty to invest in the future. It is important and we respect that this should be done with the right timing and steps. I have only heard good things from everyone involved! I’m really looking forward to next year, when everything will be ready here! After that, we will think about the next step. That’s our attitude!” – Sunday world.
