The historic mobile phone company in Gabon, Moov Africa Gabon Telecom, has, in accordance with its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) policy, made available to the municipality of Libreville a play area for the development of adolescents.
The said playground with an area of 1120 square meters is located on the seafront opposite the Lycée National Léon Mba in Libreville. The play area was jointly inaugurated on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 by the Director General of Moov Africa Gabon Telecom, Zouheir Jorio and General Judes Ibrahim Rapontchombo, Special Delegate in charge of the management of the commune of Libreville.
“We offer the municipality and, from there, our youngest children from Libreville and their parents a pleasant setting for leisure and relaxation, thus demonstrating our desire to unite and promote living together,” Mr. Jorio made clear in his speech.
In this park, children aged between 2 and 12 will be allowed to have fun. Accompanied by their parents, they will be entitled to games such as: Canoe seesaw, seesaw, spring, combined, turnstile and others.
The construction of the playground is part of an agreement signed in 2015 between Moov Africa Gabon Telecom and the Libreville city hall to support and contribute to sustainable development, driven by the country’s highest authorities.
For the first citizen of the city of Libreville, General Rapontchombo, “this playground is not simply a place of leisure; it is the symbol of our commitment to building an environment where each child can flourish, have fun and develop their physical and social abilities.”
