Palestine – Yesterday, Sunday, Israeli settlers burned Palestinian olive fields in the Nablus Governorate in the northern West Bank, and the Israeli army demolished an industrial facility in the same governorate.
The Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission (a Palestinian governmental body) said in a statement that “settlers set fire to olive fields in the town of Madama, south of Nablus.”
An eyewitness told Anadolu Agency that the settlers “deliberately burned dozens of dunams (one dunam is equal to one thousand square meters) of land planted with olive trees before the fire was controlled” by the villagers.
He explained that the targeted lands are located north of the town, along a road used by settlers, “who threw flammable materials along the road, before the fire spread to large areas of Palestinian olive groves.”
He pointed out that the village’s lands, especially those planted with olives, were subjected to “more than 10 burnings by settlers, most of which targeted the southern area that includes the Yitzhar settlement.”
Also in Nablus, the Wall Resistance Commission reported that the Israeli army demolished an industrial facility under construction near the village of Deir Sharaf, west of the city, without providing further details.
Coinciding with the devastating war on Gaza that has been ongoing since October 7, 2023, settlers have escalated their attacks in the West Bank, and the Israeli army has expanded its operations, resulting in a total of 578 Palestinians killed and about 5,400 injured, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
The war waged by Israel on Gaza with American support has left about 129,000 Palestinians dead and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 10,000 missing amid massive destruction and famine that has claimed the lives of dozens of children.
Tel Aviv continues the war, ignoring the UN Security Council resolutions to stop it immediately, and the International Court of Justice orders to take measures to prevent acts of genocide and improve the catastrophic humanitarian situation in Gaza.
