After Robert Kratky, the ORF broadcaster Ö3 is losing another prominent voice. Broadcaster boss Michael Pauser confirmed to krone.at the departure of Benny Hörtnagl, who was considered a pillar of Ö3 alongside greats such as Kratky and Andi Knoll.
The 41-year-old from Innsbruck has been a presenter and music expert at the station for two decades. He made a name for himself as “Mister Solid Gold” and shaped programs such as “Freaky Friday” and “Ö3 Music Holidays”. He will be leaving Ö3 at the end of August. Insiders suspect that Hörtnagl could move to private media companies.
Only a week ago, Ö3 alarm clock star Kratky announced that he will be retiring at the end of 2026.
