Ramón Lobo: Government economic policy seeks sustainability

The deputy to the National Assembly (AN), Ramón Lobo, assured that the economic policy carried out by the National Government seeks to guarantee the sustainability of the “economic fact” so that the Executive can cover the different social programs that exist in the country.

During an interview with VTV, this deputy member of the AN Finance Commission highlighted that by the end of the first half of 2024, compared to the previous year, a significant increase can be seen in the production of goods and services.

“If the economy expands, the State’s capacity to obtain income through taxes increases. Furthermore, this allows us to have a greater number of products on the street and a greater number of jobs,” he highlighted.

On the other hand, the deputy highlighted the dialogue between the Government and the productive sectors. In this sense, he recalled that, since the end of 2021, the decrease was reversed due to the participation of the business sector with nationalist criteria.

He recalled that in 2016 the National Council of Productive Economy was created, within the Bolivarian Economic Agenda. “This space has been consolidated as a meeting point, which has allowed the unification of criteria, we welcome that this instance has gone to the regions. “The economy is dynamic,” he stated.

He also maintained that there is a growing interest from national and international sectors to invest, “not only in the oil area but in hydrocarbons, and also those territories that have been declared as Special Economic Zones.”
