This Monday, the president of the National Electoral Council (CNE), Elvis Amorosoassured that the Venezuelan voting system is “totally protected,” this in response to some sectors that have tried to discredit the electoral body.
“(The system) is completely protected, even though a small group tries to discredit the great work that has been carried out by the Electoral Power.”
According to a press release issued by the CNE, Amoroso explained that “both the pre-dispatch audit and each of the previous audits have been a complete success.”
During a pre-dispatch audit at CNE warehouse III, he stressed that representatives of all political parties have been present in these processes, so transparency is clear at each step of the voting system.
He also indicated that this check aims to simulate the voting, counting, transmission and totaling process, in order to verify the accuracy of the voter’s voting intention with what is printed on the voting receipt.
Celectoral program continues to be fulfilled
Likewise, the vice president of the CNE, Carlos Quintero, assured that the “electoral schedule has been fully complied with” and reiterated that voting in Venezuela is electronic and that the counting and totaling processes are fully automated, “thus generating a chain of trust in the different organizations with political purposes.”
He also recalled that during the audits, “the opening of the machine, the zero record of the voting machine, the integrity of the data, the act of voting, the counting, transmission and totaling process were verified.”
