The Showcase announced for several weeks of the internationally renowned Congolese artist Singuila attracted people, beautiful people, last weekend on the banks of Mouila ”Mangondo”, provincial capital of Ngounié. The organizers pulled out all the stops, including the Libreville-Mouila-Libreville transport facilities for this memorable evening which undoubtedly constituted the bouquet of the Gabonese event calendar of the last week.

The artist, who insisted on making the trip by road, was welcomed at the gates of Mouila on Friday evening by a motorcyclist concert and a procession worthy of his aura and reputation patiently built for nearly two decades on the international musical and artistic scene.

Courtesies to local authorities, visits to some tourist sites in the region, specifically in the department of Tsamba Magotsi (Fougamou) and crowd bathing along the main arteries of Mouila stormed by a motley crowd, the tone was set for this dream evening on Saturday, which some described, rightly or wrongly, as a musical and artistic event of the ”century” never organized in the city of ”Bombe A Gnangué ” with the performance of a world-class musician, nearly 430 kilometers from Libreville.

An architectural gem located on the outskirts of the city, the ‘’Terminus Night-Club’’ which definitely lives up to its name, had put on its finest attire, nightfall to welcome the Singuila fans who were already arriving in successive waves. Everyone was aware that the places obtained at a high price in these times, would be rare and that the space would be full very quickly.

Apotheosis

The world is impatient to experience this unforgettable performance until Singuila makes his entrance at the end of the night, provoking scenes of collective hysteria, after the stage has been heated by a good bunch of nuggets, among the most beautiful promises of Gabonese music, namely: Darcy, the Eboloko brothers and Waza no limit.

Singuila starts off by singing his hit song ‘’Rossignole’’sung in chorus by the audience, mostly female, as if each of them had contributed to the composition and writing of the text; and even of all the other pieces performed in a row for almost an hour and the artist, in constant fusion with the audience, often giving security a hard time.

We sometimes accompany cult songs a capella, the DJ having to regularly lower the decibels of his turntables and consoles like ”i’m ko”, ”my nature”, ”don’t touch me”, ”someone’s wife”, ”i love Paris”, ”confinement”, ”ay mama”, ”the miserable”etc., in an evening enhanced by a battery of light shows that are a feast for the eyes, as if straight out of a fairy tale.

Everyone here would like the evening to last forever, alas. Singuila will eventually retire from the stage, leaving his many fans with a feeling of unfinished business. Fortunately, other events are announced shortly after by the organizers.

One Congolese calls another, Roga-Roga and Extra-musica will be au ‘’Terminus Night-Club’’ on August 17, before passing the baton on September 7, 2024, to the Ivorian Jocelyne Layo who comes to Mouila two months after her compatriot Kérozène, who was in Mouila about 1 month ago. Fingers crossed.

Saturday at ‘’Terminus Night-Club’’ from Mouila, the privileged discover almost astounded a magnificent setting of relaxation, among what is done best today in terms of entertainment technology in Africa and in the world. And the cherry on the cake, the setting includes a hotel complex adjoining the nightclub, with a dozen VVIP suites. Who would have believed it.

For sure, the ”Terminus Night-Club’’ and the city of Mouila are on the way to becoming a stronghold of the Gabonese music scene and it is all the better if the ”movement” may occasionally move within the country. The owners du ‘’Terminus Night-Club’’ undoubtedly send a strong signal to promoters of art, culture and the entertainment industry in Gabon.
