Maderas City, with a race in Sierra Papakal

Yesterday, the first edition of the Ciudad Maderas Race was presented, an event with three races that will take place on August 25 at the Sierra Papacal police station, with a cash prize of 60 thousand pesos to be distributed.

There will be a 10-kilometer race as the main event and a 5-kilometer race, as well as a participatory walk, in the men’s and women’s categories.

The starting shot will be at 6 a.m. and 600 runners are expected to participate in the free, master, sub-master, veteran and veteran plus categories.

Felipe Camelo Campos, from the organizing committee, mentioned that the absolute category will have prizes of 15 thousand pesos for first place, 10 thousand for second and 5 thousand for third, in both categories. Likewise, awards will be given to the first three places in the 5 kilometer distance and walk.

The presentation was attended by the technical secretary of Sports of the City Council of Merida, Jesus Aguilar y Aguilar; Adriana Mañas Abascal, director of Ciudad Maderas Peninsula; Lola Valdez Rodriguez and Heriberto Diaz Sanchez, Commercial Managers.
