THE Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) has detected the identity of the supervisory team being used by the prospective independent candidate pair for Governor and Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta, Dharma Pongrekun and Kun Wardhana.
Bawaslu RI member, Puadi, said that his staff who were implicated included supervisors at the sub-district level.
“Panwascam (sub-district supervisory committee) and PKD (family/village supervisors) as organizers (of the regional elections) cannot support it as organizers,” he said, Monday (22/7).
According to Puadi, there were four election supervisors in West Jakarta whose names were used, while in Central Jakarta and East Jakarta there were eight each. They were used as Dharma-Kun supporters.
In contrast to pairs supported by political parties, independent regional head candidates must submit support requirements first before being able to register as regional election participants.
Regarding the findings, Puadi said that his party had sent an official letter. He emphasized that the use of identity as a support requirement is prohibited by Law Number 10/2016 concerning Regional Elections as a form of document forgery.

“Article 185A (Regional Election Law), any person who intentionally falsifies the list of support for individual candidates is also subject to criminal sanctions,” said Puadi.
Dharma-Kun is the only independent gubernatorial candidate pair competing in Jakarta. The Jakarta General Election Commission (KPU) requires a minimum of 618,968 votes for the Jakarta gubernatorial candidate pair.
Previously, the support submitted by Dharma-Kun after being verified by the DKI Jakarta KPU only reached 447,469. However, the pair filed a lawsuit to the DKI Jakarta Bawaslu with the agreement that the DKI Jakarta KPU re-process the Dharma-Kun verification.
The DKI Jakarta KPU stated that the results of the administrative verification of the support requirements met the requirements, with 721,221 supports. Next, the KPU will conduct factual verification of the 721,221 supports. (Z-8)
