British man wanted by Interpol arrested in international drug smuggling case

A British man wanted by Interpol in connection with international drug trafficking has been arrested following…On Thursday, July 18, the police of Marrakech Security District arrested the same citizen, aged 31, who was the subject of an international arrest warrant issued once morest him by the judicial authorities in the United Kingdom.

The suspect was arrested at Marrakech Menara Airport, where his search in the database of the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) revealed that he was wanted internationally at the request of the National Central Bureau in Manchester, on suspicion of his involvement in a criminal network in Scotland, active in the international smuggling of cocaine, hashish and synthetic drugs (DIAMORPHINE and AMPHETAMINES), in addition to suspicion of his involvement in intentionally subjecting people to physical and psychological harm.

The suspect was placed under police custody pending his referral to the competent public prosecutor, while the National Central Bureau (Interpol Rabat Bureau), affiliated with the General Directorate of National Security, was tasked with notifying its counterpart in the United Kingdom of the arrest pending extradition proceedings.

The arrest of the suspect comes within the framework of international police cooperation relations between the General Directorate of National Security and the security services in the United States of America, in order to pursue persons wanted internationally in cases of transnational crime.
