Mechanic dies after being sucked into Boeing turbine

TEHRAN.- A mechanic lost his life in the Chabahar airport Konaraklocated south of Iranbeing sucked into the turbine of a passenger plane.

The victim was identified as Abolfazl Amiri, who was carrying out routine maintenance work when the tragedy occurred.

Abolfazl Amiri was conducting an inspection of a passenger plane Boeing 737-500from the Iranian domestic airline Varesh Airlineto make sure it might take off when he noticed one of his tools was missing.

The tool was near the plane’s right engine, which was running for testing and the hatches were also open.

Although a safety zone was established around the plane, the victim got too close to the aircraft and was sucked into the turbine.

Moments following the worker was sucked in, the engine caught fire.

Fatal accidents at airports
