The Executive Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, inaugurated the XI National Poultry Congress 2024 on behalf of President Nicolás Maduro this Thursday night.
During the activity, the senior official highlighted her joy at participating in the event held at the Eurobuilding Hotel in Caracas, which gives an account of the advances in national production.
“Happy to be at this Poultry Expo, where knowing how Venezuela advances and produces always calls us to happiness,” he expressed.
In this regard, Rodríguez highlighted that in the last 12 months chicken production grew by 7% and eggs 37%, cited AVN.
“It is a truly flourishing industry that is advancing, that is growing, all its related services, what has to do with animal feeding, chicken, what has to do with health as well,” stated the Vice President.
For his part, the president of the National Poultry Federation of Venezuela, Francisco Tagliapietra, confirmed that the union is generating around 550.000 tons of chicken meat per year.
He said that the forecasts are for an increase of 8%, the same as the line of eggs for human consumption.
The congress will last until July 20 with the participation of 60 companies in the sector.
Chicken and eggs account for 61% of the animal protein consumed in the country.
