Actor and musician Jack Black has cancelled the remainder of his band Tenacious D’s world tour following his bandmate made a controversial comment during a speech by Donald Trump following the shooting.

Tenacious D, the comedy rock group of Jack Black and Kyle Gass, were on stage in Sydney, Australia on Sunday. Since it was also Gass’ birthday, he was asked what his birthday wish was. The musician replied: “Don’t miss Trump next time.”

That comment came, of course, following the shooting incident during a speech by Donald Trump in Pennsylvania. During that speech, shots rang out on Saturday and the former president was injured in the ear.

Jack Black has now announced via social media that he is ending the band’s tour following his bandmate’s comment.

In a statement on Instagram, Black said he would “never condone hate speech or encourage political violence in any form.” “After much consideration, I no longer feel it is appropriate to proceed with the Tenacious D tour, and all future creative plans have been put on hold,” he said.
