International media reports Joe Biden’s imminent withdrawal from the candidacy

Various international media outlets claim that the current president of the United States (US), Joe Biden, will announce this weekend his decision to withdraw from the presidential race.

According to Axios, the presidential re-election candidate explained this decision to his campaign advisors.

He added that Biden, 81, who is in isolation at his Delaware residence following testing positive for COVID-19, is facing increasing pressure from around 20 Democrats who are once morest his candidacy for the elections that will take place in four months.

Other US media outlets are taking this line, reporting that among them are former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, who want Biden to withdraw from the race.

The Washington Post reported that former President Barack Obama told his allies that Biden’s path to presidential victory has “fallen” and he believes he must evaluate the viability of his candidacy.

He insisted that Obama has been clear that “the future of Biden’s candidacy is a decision that must be made by the president himself.”
