Edmundo González visits the UCV to meet with authorities and students

This Wednesday, the candidate of the Democratic Unitary Platform for the presidential elections of July 28, Edmundo Gonzalez Urrutiavisited the Central University of Venezuela (UCV), his university, where he met with authorities of the institution.

Also, during the day the opposition candidate held a meeting with the students to listen to the group’s demands.

“Public education has shaped me and is the pillar that supports the future leaders of our nation”he commented following his tour of the place. During his visit he stopped by the School of International Studies, where he was educated.

“My story is that of a child of public education. I grew up in La Victoria, attended primary school at the Rubén Darío School, completed high school at the José Félix Ribas High School and completed my university studies at the prestigious Universidad Central de Venezuela. I am a faithful example of the value and quality that public education offers to train the professionals of tomorrow.”he added.

It is expected that it will be at the end of this month when Edmundo González Urrutia will start his campaign towards the elections of July 28. Regarding whether it will cover the entire national territory or the route to be followed, the Unitary Platform has not provided details.

His candidacy was approved last April by the opposition following the disqualification once morest María Corina Machado was maintainedwinner of the October primaries, as well as the obstacles imposed when registering Corina Yoris with the National Electoral Council.
