Cucurella also received a lot of criticism at the European Championships.
But not because of his hairstyle: In the European Championship quarter-final between Spain and Germany (2:1 following extra time), Cucurella touched the ball in the penalty area with his hand during extra time. However, the referee did not consider this to be a punishable handball. The 25-year-old was subsequently booed by some fans in the two remaining matches of the tournament.
