In the last year, the private sector has increased the salaries of its workers to an average of 210 dollars per month. This was reported by the Venezuelan Finance Observatory through its economic and social bulletin.
The year-on-year increase was 48.9%the organization revealed.
The study that led the Observatory to this conclusion was generated by accessing figures from companies related to the services and trade sector, all located in the Metropolitan Area of Caracas.
According to the research, The minimum point found income of 200 dollars, while the maximum was close to 500 dollars..
Despite the efforts of the private sector to increase the income of its workers, the figures remain small compared to expenses. At the beginning of the month, Cendas-FVM reported that the basic basket for a family of five was 1200 dollars.
“There was no increase in the minimum wage on May 1, when it was expected that it would at least be revalued to 30 dollars in accordance with what was promised in 2018 when it was said that the salary was equivalent to half a petro. That would be raising the salary to 1,110 bolivars.”explained the economist Oscar Mezadirector de Cendas-FVM.
