T20 organized by the Kerala Cricket Association (KCA) has selected the franchises of the Kerala Cricket League. Film director Priyadarshan, prominent businessman Sir Sohan Roy and others have acquired the franchise. Six teams will participate in the league matches to be held at the Sports Hub at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram from September 2.

S. Priyadarshan Jose Patara Consortium, Sohan Roy (Aries Group), Sajad Seth (Finesse Consortium) T. S. Kaladharan (Console Shipping Services India Pvt Ltd), Subhash George Manuel (Enigmatic Smile Rewards Pvt Ltd) and Sanju Muhammad (EKK Infrastructure Ltd) were awarded the franchises of the teams. Team names etc will be decided later.

The six-team franchises were selected through a competitive tender process. A total of 13 people applied for the franchise. Seven candidates who fully met the eligibility criteria were selected for final bidding. Of these, the six people who quoted the highest amount have got the team franchise.

The Kerala Cricket Association will select the players to participate in the auction from among the registered Kerala players. The franchised team owners will acquire their players from them through player auctions.

Kerala Cricket Association President Jayesh George, Secretary Vinod S. Kumar, Governing Council Chairman Nasser Machan, Member P.J. Nawaz also participated in the bid opening.
