One-half to one-meter loaves and chapatis will be found on ovens in Pakistan and Afghanistan, but double loaves of up to one meter are common in Vietnam.

The double buns were first posted by a website called Brightside, and following that, huge chunks of the Vietnamese slice started appearing on every social media platform. Many experts have also counted Vietnam’s giant double breads in the list of strange foods in the world.

But among them, Nanbai of Anjiang province are experts in making large double buns. A braid can be up to one meter in length and weigh up to three to four kilograms. They are sold in large plastic bags and the cost of a loaf can range from one to two dollars i.e. 150 to 300 rupees. These rotis are spread with a layer of butter, sprinkled with sesame seeds or added with other flavors to enhance the taste.

But when we look at the history of the trend of making these big double breads, it is found that this practice started recently. Rather, a shopkeeper first started making big double breads and following that the trend took off and now every shop is preparing such breads. People use a double loaf of bread for several days. On the other hand, tourists to Vietnam buy them as souvenirs and take pictures with them.
