Peña approves construction of the “largest hospital in Paraguay” in Itauguá

Asuncion, IP Agency.- During the delivery of social housing in three districts of Central, President Santiago Peña, and the Minister of Public Works, Claudia Centurión, announced important infrastructure projects for Itauguá.

The construction of a New hospital in Itauguá is one of the most outstanding works. “This new hospital will allow for better health care for the people of Itaugua, for the inhabitants of Central and for all Paraguayans,” said Peña, assuring that it will be the “largest hospital in Paraguay.”

The president emphasized the benefits of the project, which will generate numerous jobs, not only during construction, but also during its subsequent operation. He also clarified that “the current hospital will continue to operate; it will not be replaced, but rather an additional one will be built.”

Centurión announced that “the hospital works will be used to improve roads and access routes in the district,” including the duplication of the Itá-Itauguá route, a project that has already received presidential approval.

In this context, Peña added that he has asked the minister “not to wait for the new hospital to be ready to build the connection between Itauguá and Ypacaraí. We want to build a first-class route that substantially improves the quality of life of the people of Itauguá.”
