San José is once again the champion of the National Men’s Basketball League

Asuncion, IP Agency.-Deportivo San José was crowned champion of the Apertura tournament of the National Men’s Basketball League for the seventh consecutive time, following beating the Olimpia Kings 67 to 45 in the fifth game of the final series.

After two initial victories for the Santo team, Olimpia turned the tide by winning the following matches, leading to the final in which San José was far superior and already had a clear advantage from the start.

The first quarter already reflected what the rest of the match would be like, dominated by the current champion very awake despite several errors by Bebencho Sánchez and on the other hand showing an Olimpia that reacted very late in the first part of the match and allowed nine points of light to its rival (19 to 10).

Second bedroom

The second half of the match was similar to the first, with the home team always alert and attentive on offense once morest an opponent who had a hard time getting into the game despite their recovery that at least allowed them to maintain a more even fight that ended 15-14 for the saints with a global score of 34-24 and ten points ahead.

Third quarter

The third chapter was a dominance of the Albiceleste, the one with the highest production of San José, almost sentencing the match and with a Franjeado that fell emotionally and did not find itself in the match. The numbers say it all: 19-10 in the stage and 19 points of distance in total. [53-34].

Quarter final

In the last chapter of the match, Olimpia tried to wake up in terms of play. But it was too late to score 11 points, which was not enough to even win the fourth quarter, which was once more San José’s 14-11. The host, with better play and precision, ended up destroying the Franjeados’ hopes and fairly adding the final victory that gave them their seventh consecutive title.
