MANCHESTER United have officially completed the transfer of French defender Leny Yoro from Lille for a transfer value of 62 million euros (around Rp. 1.83 trillion).
The 18-year-old defender has signed a five-year contract that will keep him at Old Trafford until 2029, with the option of a further year.
“Manchester United is delighted to announce that Leny Yoro has officially joined the club,” the Premier League club wrote in an official statement on Friday (19/7).
Yoro, who made his professional debut at the age of 16, had been targeted by many top European clubs such as Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Liverpool before deciding to join Manchester United.
He has made 32 appearances and scored two goals for Lille in Ligue 1, helping the club finish fourth last season.
Yoro, in an interview, said that he is very honored to be able to join and play for a club as big as Manchester United. He hopes to develop and maximize his potential while playing at the Red Devils.

“Joining Manchester United at the start of my career is a great honour. From the first talks with the club, they planned how I might develop in Manchester as part of this project, and they have treated me and my family very well,” Yoro said following signing the contract.
According to him, Manchester United is the perfect club for young players who want to maximize their potential and achieve their ambitions.
Yoro is Manchester United’s second signing of the summer, having previously brought in Dutch striker Joshua Zirkzee from Serie A side Bologna. (Ant/Z-1)
