New details emerge regarding the alleged rape that took place 5 years ago once morest two girls in the villa of the founder of the 5 Star Movement, Beppe Grillo. The son of the comedian and politician from Genoa, Ciro, and 3 other young people have been accused of the gang rape. One of them, Francesco Corsiglia, was the first to make spontaneous statements to the judges and tell his version of the facts regarding that dramatic night. As reconstructed in the pages of La Repubblica, the young man in his long deposition dated June 14, 2024 – over 75 pages of minutes – reconstructed the various stages of the story, in particular those that describe the dynamics of the meeting between the young men and the girls.
“When we were sitting in a taxi facing each other, on the way back from the Billionaire nightclub to the Pavero house, Silvia (fictitious name, ed.) put her foot between my legs… on my genitals,” Corsiglia told the judges, citing the circumstance as evidence of a consensual relationship. Assisted by lawyers Gennaro Velle and Antonella Cucureddu, he is the only one of the four defendants so far to have agreed to be questioned by the magistrates. During his deposition, Corsiglia had some weaknesses, especially in his account of the timing of that night and in describing the Grillo villa. Despite some hesitation, he proved to be very determined in recounting the sexual relationship he had with Silvia and repeatedly described it as consensual: following the taxi ride, the flirtation between the two in the kitchen of the house and the irritated reaction of Ciro who had previously gone to a private room with the girl. Despite this, the two decided to leave the group and head to one of the rooms. Here is the first part of the relationship, interrupted several times by other friends who peek at the couple from behind a curtain, then the rest in the bathroom and under the shower: “All with her consent” – Corsiglia assured.
The story told by Corsiglia, who now lives abroad, is very different from the one provided by Silvia. The student described a full-blown rape: following being taken to the room, she was grabbed by the hair and forced to have oral sex for the first time when the two were in bed. She was then allegedly pulled into the shower and had her head slammed once morest the bathroom wall. And then when Corsiglia goes to sleep and Roberta (the fictitious name of the other girl involved, editor’s note) falls asleep on the sofa, the other three boys – including Ciro Grillo – allegedly raped her once more and filmed everything with their smartphones. The event allegedly pushed the young woman to confide in her mother, who 9 days later took her to the Mangiagalli Clinic in Milan and then to the Carabinieri in Piazza Duomo to file a complaint. The versions given by the girls and Corsiglia are contradictory. These stories will have to be examined by the magistrates during the trial. To make matters worse for the four young men, there was a second alleged rape once morest the second young woman, who was allegedly photographed while she was asleep by two of the defendants.
