Qalandars and Sultans were defeated on the last balls

In today’s second match played in Rawalpindi, Quetta Gladiators defeated Lahore Qalandars by six wickets thanks to Muhammad Wasim’s last ball six.

In pursuit of 166 runs, Quetta’s opener Saud Shakeel played an excellent game and remained not out by scoring 88 runs off 65 balls.

Jason Roy scored 18 and captain Riley Russo scored 13 while Khawaja Nafee scored 16 off 24 balls.

Mohammad Wasim played just two balls but his six off Shaheen Afridi on the last over was decisive. When four runs were needed from the last ball to win, Mohammad Wasim hit a six off the last ball to give the team the win.

On behalf of Lahore Qalandars, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Jahandad Khan dismissed two players each.

Batting first, Lahore Qalandars scored 166 runs for the loss of four wickets in the allotted twenty overs.

Lahore Qalandars opening batsmen Sahibzada Farhan and Mirza Baig failed to play long innings.

Sahibzada Farhan scored 25 runs and Mirza Baig scored 12 runs while Shai Hope also scored only 5 runs.

The Lahore Qalandars captain scored 55 runs off 34 balls with the help of four sixes and two fours and established a perfect partnership with Abdullah Shafiq.

Abdullah Shafiq scored 59 runs off 39 balls and was not out.

On behalf of Quetta Gladiators, Abrar Ahmed took two wickets, Muhammad Amir and Muhammad Wasim took one wicket each.

Islamabad United managed to achieve a target like Pahar

In Sunday’s first match, Islamabad United defeated Multan Sultans following a thrilling encounter. Islamabad United has also qualified for the play-off stage.

Islamabad United captain Shadab Khan won the toss and decided to field first in Sunday’s first match at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

Batting first, Multan Sultans scored 228 runs for four wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

Usman Khan of Multan Sultans scored a century and remained not out.
