The film on the special children of Mirpurkhas was nominated for an Emmy Award

Special Olympics Pakistan From Sindh of District Mirpur Khas Special children Shorts made during sports training the film ‘As Far As They Can Run’ has been nominated for an Emmy Award in the Outstanding Short Documentary category.

Five from around the world for this category Documentary films has been nominated while ‘Ez For Ez De Can Run’ is the only Pakistani film from Pakistan.

The short film is 39 minutes long and is directed by the world award-winning Iranian-American documentary filmmaker Tanaz Ishaqian.

The Special Olympics Pakistan team selected three special children from Mirpur Khas district for sports training, whose parents used to ‘bind’ them to protect their children.

This short film is based on the life of these children who became expert athletes following training.

Sana Kapri, one of the three characters of the film, not only represented Pakistan this year at the Special Olympics in Berlin, Germany, but also won many awards.

Nader Siddiqui, director of photography and cinematographer of this documentary, told Independent Urdu: ‘The characters of this film used to be bound in shackles. Because their parents did not understand how to protect them?

One of them, Sana Kapri, was lighting the torch of the Special Olympics in Berlin this year. What a long and beautiful journey for such a girl. who was born in a village and also has mental problems.’

According to Nader Siddiqui, the shooting of this film took more than a year, during which, following some breaks, he would go to his team Mirpurkhas and record the training of special children.
