Luka Modric renewed his contract with Real Madrid. See how long it will last!

Croatian midfielder Luka Modric extended his contract with the club on Wednesday, July 17. Real Madrid until the end of the next European football season in June 2025.

This was announced by the ‘merengue’ club, which will have the 2018 Ballon d’Or winner for a thirteenth campaign.

Modric, one of Madrid’s captains, has not started as often this season but is expected to play a bigger role in Carlo Ancelotti’s midfield following the retirement of Toni Kroos.

The Croatian has 26 titles with Madrid, the most in the club’s history, alongside defender Nacho Fernández. Among them, six Champions Leagues and four Spanish Leagues.

“Modric arrived at Real Madrid in 2012, and in his 12 seasons wearing our shirt he has become a legend of Real Madrid and world football”the club said in the statement.

The midfielder won the Ballon d’Or, the FIFA Men’s Player of the Year Award and was named UEFA Player of the Year in 2018, when he led Croatia to second place at the World Cup.

Modric has made 178 appearances for Croatia and is the all-time leading international. He has made 534 appearances for Madrid, scoring 39 goals.
