Samsung Community Forum moderators have confirmed that two new Galaxy Watch Ultra watch faces, called Ultra Analog and Simple Ultra, will become available for older Samsung smartwatches in the near future.
Last week, Samsung hosted its second Galaxy Unpacked event of 2024, where they launched their new premium smartwatch, a Galaxy Watch Ultra. This watch features a more radical design than previous versions, with a rectangular format combined with a circular screen, and a new multisport mode allowing users to monitor three different sports at the same time.
In addition to the design changes, the Galaxy Watch Ultra debuted two brand new watch faces which, at the moment, are exclusive to this model. However, these watch faces will soon be available on other older Samsung smartwatches.
If you have a Galaxy Watch4, Watch5 or Watch6, you will be able to use the exclusive Galaxy Watch Ultra watch faces “in the future”
As revealed by Android Police recently, a moderator representing the One UI Beta team on the Samsung Community Forums confirmed that the two exclusive watch faces for the Galaxy Watch Ultra, called Ultra Analog and Simple Ultra, will be available very soon on previous Galaxy Watch models, including the Galaxy Watch4, Galaxy Watch5, and Galaxy Watch6.
“Watch 7 Ultra watch faces are exclusive to this model, even though it has the same One UI as the Watch4/5/6 due to the capabilities of both hardware/software. In the future, new watch faces will be integrated into older models.”
What makes these two watch faces unique is that they feature a function which gives the clock hands, hour markers, and some other user interface elements a photoluminescent glow which makes the smartwatch glow in the dark.
Currently, these two watch faces are exclusive to the Galaxy Watch Ultra, and they are not available on the new Galaxy Watch 7, nor have they been included in the versions of One UI Watch 6 Beta that have arrived on older models.
While the exact release date of these watch faces for the Galaxy Watch 4, 5, and 6 has not yet been announced, it seems likely that they will be released with a future update following Wear OS 5 lands on these smartwatches.
