Asuncion, IP Agency.- The Mariano Roque Alonso District Hospital received equipment to perform mammography, which will allow it to complement the prevention and diagnosis service of breast ultrasound, consultation and biopsy for users, reported the Ministry of Public Health.
This diagnostic imaging tool is a contribution from the Regional Hospital of Paraguarí and the collaboration of the Mormon Church for the repair of the equipment delivered.
The health centre has two professional mammologists who are in charge of providing assistance in the office, as well as taking biopsy samples and performing breast ultrasounds. Now, images can be interpreted through mammograms.
“It is a very important contribution for the hospital that receives many users from the community. Mammography is the queen of images and we are making progress in the service for women – mothers because we also offer early detection of cervical cancer. Now we are entering the breast cancer detection part, we have a gynecologist with prenatal care for future mothers,” said the director of the hospital, Dr. Carlos Cañete.
The days and times authorized for consultation, scheduling and withdrawal of results are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., the report from the health portfolio states.
