Where to watch the nominated series and films?

  • Shōgun, from Disney, is the candidate to win this year among dramatic series with 25 nominations, while The Bear, With 14 nominations, it is the favorite in the comedy category

This Wednesday, July 17, the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences announced the nominees for the 76th edition of the 2024 Emmy Awards which will be presented on September 15 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, California (United States).

In this awards race, Disney leads the list of productions with the most nominations with the series Shōgun, contender for 25 awards in the drama category, and The Bear with a total of 14 nominations in the comedy genre.

Shōgun

This historical drama is set in feudal Japan in the 1600s, where Lord Yoshii Toronaga fights for his life when his enemies in the Ruling Council conspire once morest him.

This Disney series in Japanese, English and Portuguese is nominated for 25 Emmy Awards, including Best Drama Series, Best Actor for Hiroyuki Sanada, Best Supporting Actor for Tadanobu Asano and Takehiro Hiray, and Best Actress for Anna Sawai.

Among the main Emmy nominations it obtained are: Best Drama Series, Best Actress for Carrie Coon, Best Supporting Actor for Nathan Lane and Best Supporting Actress for Christine Baranski and Cynthia Nixon.
