Constitutional law expert Refly Harun claims to have heard the main reason for building the Indonesian Capital City (IKN). The legacy of building the capital city is easier for people to remember than the toll road project. That’s what he heard.
“So there are those who say, ‘If you build a toll road, the people will forget the fastest. However, if you move the capital, the people will remember forever,'” said Refly in the Crosscheck Face to Face program, Sunday (14/7).
Refly said the reason for building the capital city because it is related to legacy is a serious matter. Moreover, to commemorate the services of Joko Widodo (Jokowi).
“Wow, if for example the relocation of the capital is based on the desire for inheritance, that would be very serious,” said Refly.
He did not deny that the first President of the Republic of Indonesia, Soekarno, also had legas. However, it was in accordance with the times and urgency.
Refly also highlighted the location of IKN Nusantara which is too far from Jakarta. This has an impact on high mobilization costs. Especially for state civil servants (ASN) who were originally headquartered in Jakarta must move to IKN Nusantara.
“If for example the capital city is shifted to, for example, the furthest Bandung or the furthest yesterday, Jonggol for example, then he does not need to relocate his residence because of his work. This is a matter (of money),” Refly emphasized. (Z-11)
