Freddy Bernal explains what an opposition Chavismo would look like if Edmundo González wins

On the morning of Monday, July 15, Freddy Bernal, governor of the state of Táchira, glimpsed what an opposition Chavismo would be like if Edmundo González wins.

During an interview with Globovisión’s Primera Página, Bernal said that if Nicolás Maduro loses the presidential election on July 28, he would hand over power.

“Every time we’ve lost, we’ve delivered,” Bernal said.

“Do not have the slightest doubt regarding their democratic character,” he said, adding that “this is a nightmare that will never happen in Venezuela.”

Freddy Bernal, a member of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), also stressed that a right-wing government would not last a year with the Chavista leadership on the streets.

“We in the opposition with the National Assembly, with 20 governorships, 220 mayorships, with popular power and opposition, I can’t imagine what Freddy Bernal would be like in the opposition?” he added.
