BEFORE focusing on the music world, Genesis Lubis had aspired to become a professional footballer right when he was in grade 5 of elementary school – 2 of junior high school. He admitted that he had entered a soccer school (SSB) in his area of residence with the Putra Kalang FC team.
“Before I became a musician, I had dreams of becoming a footballer,” said Genesis.
Because he loves playing soccer, Genesis Lubis often spends his time playing soccer with his friends.
Genesis Lubis plays as a goalkeeper. Genesis used to idolize goalkeepers Iker Casillas and Keylor Navas (Real Madrid goalkeeper).
Genesis even made Keylor Navae’s photo as his social media profile photo.
“I used to play football as a goalkeeper. I used to really idolize Keylor Navas and even made his photo as my Facebook profile,” said Genesis.

Genesis has competed several times with the Putra Kalang FC team. He admitted that their team had become the second champion in the Regent League event in Dairi Regency in 2015.
“My team and I won the inter-district football championship in the Regent’s League in 2015,” said Genesis Lubis.
The dream of becoming a footballer did not come true
In 2017, right when he entered the 1st grade of vocational school, Genesis Lubis had to bury his dream of becoming a professional footballer. His parents continued Genesis Lubis’ education to the private music vocational school Rismaduma in Sumbul District, Dairi Regency.

Genesis Lubis initially didn’t want to, but for some reason at that time Genesis had to agree to his parents’ orders.
“I didn’t want to go to music school. I felt like I didn’t have any musical talent,” said Genesis.
Then, in 2017, precisely in August, Genesis continued his education at Rismaduma Sumbul Private Music Vocational School, Dairi Regency.

Since then, Genesis began to be interested in music. Armed with the results of his education at SMK for 3 years, Genesis was able to achieve his dream of becoming a musician at this time.
Day by day, football began to fade little by little in Genesis’ mind.
“When I entered vocational school, I started to like the world of music more, and I rarely play football anymore, but I will not leave football, if I have free time, I sometimes play football with my friends,” said Genesis Lubis.
Although his dream of becoming a footballer was dashed, Genesis Lubis was very enthusiastic regarding pursuing his career in the music world. He did not want to lose the momentum he had experienced before.
“Be enthusiastic. Because that’s my dream from childhood. I feel guilty, try this way first. Now in music, I don’t want to lose momentum,” concluded Genesis Lubis. (Z-1)
