“Take the Carnival into your hands!”: Meeting and applications for participation in thematic groups of the Patron Carnival 2025 – 2024-07-17 14:57:33

“Take the Carnival into your hands! Our Carnival, the country’s biggest celebration, has always been a matter for many! The Municipality of Patreon and KEDIP are responsible for coordination and organization, but the strength, inspiration and imagination comes from all the people of Patreon, without exclusion or discrimination!

For this purpose we are creating ten (10) thematic work groups and we invite every restless carnival spirit to participate in them.

We listen, we propose, we create the Carnival”.

With this in mind, the President of KEDIP-Patras Carnival, Pavlos Skouras, invites those interested to join the groups in an open discussion on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at 8:00 p.m. at the Old Slaughterhouses. The purpose of the meeting with the President of KEDIP as rapporteur is to understand the content of the work and the way the thematic groups operate, which have been designed by the Board of Directors. of KEDIP and in which the participants will have an active role in the planning, coordination and implementation of each action. Detailed information will be provided.

We would like to inform you that as of today (Monday 15 July 2024) an online registration form has been posted on the official website of KEDIP (carnivalpatras.gr) until Wednesday 24 July 2024. Those who do not manage to register online will be given the opportunity to do so on the day of the meeting (24.7.2024) at the secretariat which will be located in room K6 of Carnival, in the Old Slaughterhouses. The maximum number of Carnival groups that each interested party can register for is 5 and they will be registered in order of priority.

THE THEMATIC GROUPS FOR THE P.K. 2025 ARE THE FOLLOWING:
(accompanied by an indicative description of their tasks)

1. CITY CARNIVAL TEAM

Collaboration with architects, Artists of the Carnival workshop, electricians of the Municipality of Patreon, the designated representative of the Board of Directors. and the Directorate of KEDIP for planning – coordination implementation indicative of the following:
– Placement of all kinds of Carnival-style urban decoration objects in the emblematic buildings or points of the Patreon Municipality such as: a) Arsakeio – New Town Hall, b) Old Town Hall Building-Maisonos, c) “Apollo” Municipal Theatre, d) Agios Nikolaos Stairs, e) Stairs of Three Admirals Square, f) Old Port Pier e) Old Slaughterhouses

– Placement of all kinds of Carnival-style urban decorations in the following squares of the Municipality of Patreon, such as: a) Georgiou A, b) Ypsila Alonia, c) Olga, d) Trios Symmacho, e) Omonia, f) Agia Sophia

-Providing advisory suggestions on the design proposals for new carnival bastakas to be submitted to KEDIP

– Provision of advisory proposals for the Carnival electric lighting decoration of the city

-Setting up Exhibitions (Uniforms in the Silver Market, new exhibitions in the Old Slaughterhouses or other Municipal spaces)

-Setting up big ceremonies (beginning – end – New Year’s Eve)

2. GROUP OF LARGE CEREMONIES (STARTING AND ENDING)

Cooperation with a certain representative of the Board of Directors, the Directorate of KEDIP, with groups of P.K.2025 (e.g. Carnival image, coordination of volunteers) and involved bodies for the planning, coordination and implementation of the artistic events concerning the major ceremonies and for watching the parallel events of the city throughout the Carnival period.

3. TSIKNOPEMPTIS TEAM

Cooperation with a certain representative of the Board of Directors, the Directorate of KEDIP and Carnival groups P.K.2025 (e.g. city image, coordination of volunteers) for the planning, coordination and implementation of the artistic events of Tsiknopepti (musical events, theatrical events etc.) but also of the traditional “color” events appropriate to the Upper Town. The design direction will be to ensure a uniform image of the celebration in the City from the morning to the evening of Tsiknopemti.

4. LARGE PARADES TEAM (Saturday NIGHT RUN, SUNDAY LARGE PARADE)

Cooperation with a certain representative of the Board of Directors, the Directorate of KEDIP, P.K.2025 Carnival groups (e.g. city image, coordination of volunteers) and involved bodies of the city for the planning, coordination and implementation of the big parades.

They will mainly deal with the drawing up of an action plan for the two large parades which will include indicatively: communication with crew representatives for the flow of the parade, communication with the drivers of the floats, the safety of the participants in cooperation with the competent bodies of the city, the correct positioning of the crews at the gates etc.)

5. VOLUNTEER COORDINATION GROUP

Cooperation with a certain representative of the Board of Directors, the Directorate of KEDIP, the group of Volunteers that will be established for P.K.2025 and involved city agencies for the coordination of volunteers in all actions of the P.K..

Cooperation with a certain representative of the Board of Directors, the Directorate of KEDIP, other Carnival groups of P.K.2025 for the planning, management and coordination of new, different, innovative, alternative actions or coming from various professional spaces that they create during the carnival period in our city.

7. SUPPORT GROUP FOR ACTIONS OF THE CITY’S ASSOCIATED BODIES

Cooperation with a certain representative of the Board of Directors, the Management of KEDIP, other Carnival groups of P.K.2025 for the planning, management, coordination of actions of various collective bodies of the city with the aim of their promotion and smooth inclusion in the program of events of KEDIP in the context of the upgrade of the produced Carnival Artistic spectacle.

8. CHILDREN’S CARNIVAL SUPPORT GROUP

Cooperation with a certain representative of the Board of Directors, the Directorate of KEDIP, other Carnival groups of P.K.2025 for the planning, management, coordination of actions of the Carnival of the Little ones. The aim is to improve the quality of the image of the Children’s Carnival, to acquire Carnival education and finally to strengthen the participation of the city’s children in other major events. Some proposals to achieve the aforementioned are the reinforcement of the educational workshops, the new planning of the Carnival towns, the addition of new actions to the program of the P.K. 2025 such as: Organization of a local Children’s Carnival Song and Fairytale Festival.

9.HIDDEN TREASURE SUPPORT GROUP

Cooperation with a certain representative of the Board of Directors, the Directorate of KEDIP, other Carnival groups of P.K.2025 and the organizer of the Game of K.Th. 2025 for the management and coordination of actions of the Game of K.Th.

10. SUPPORT GROUP FOR AWARD CEREMONY FOR PARADE AND GAME CREWS OF K.TH.

Cooperation with a certain representative of the Board of Directors, the Directorate of KEDIP, other Carnival groups of P.K.2025 for the planning, management and coordination of the Award ceremony of the Parade Crews and K.Th.
