Benjamin Netanyahu added during an interview with Channel 14 yesterday, Monday: “There is incitement to violence and the killing of elected officials here.”
“It can happen,” he continued. “There is incitement to violence and killing of elected officials, ministers, the prime minister and his family members. It is widespread, not on a daily basis, it is almost on an hourly basis.”
Netanyahu added, “It is impossible to believe that it exists… chants of ‘traitor’, ‘murderer’, ‘must be finished, like Ceausescu’, ‘like Mussolini’, and so on.”
“This is unacceptable,” the Israeli prime minister said.
Netanyahu also touched on the incitement once morest his family members during the interview, saying, “This is not only directed once morest me, but also once morest my family members. Against Benny, the extreme leftists send private investigators to publish his location. They clear it up in the media, and then Hamas comes and says, ‘We know where you are, and we will kill you.’”
The Prime Minister also spoke regarding the threats his wife, Sara, received: “There are also threats of violence, threats of rape, other threats and slander once morest my wife… my wife who works around the clock and meets almost every day with bereaved families, meets with the families of the kidnapped and they curse her and threaten her.”
Asked why they don’t fire Ombudsman Gali Beharv-Miara, Netanyahu said, “We expect the Ombudsman to be the legal adviser to the government and not once morest the government. We expect her, the state attorney and other law enforcement agencies to come out and act once morest these criminal offenses that expose us to the risk of political murder.”
