On July 12, it was revealed through various sources that a group of hackers claims to have leaked more than 1 TB of internal data related to Disney projects. According to the media HackreadHacking group NullBulge claims to have breached Disney’s internal Slack platform, allegedly leaking messages, files, code and more.
The hacker group ensures that the alleged breach contains a full copy of the company’s Slack communications used by its development team, including messages, files and other data.
They claim the leak includes “nearly 10,000 channels, every possible message and file, unreleased projects, raw images, code, logins, links to internal websites/APIs, and much more!”
“Disney has seen their entire development Slack downloaded. 1.1 TiB of files and chat messages. Everything we might get our hands on we downloaded and packaged. Wanna see what goes on behind closed doors? Go find it,” he tells the hacking group via the tweet.
NullBulge claims its goal is to “protect artists’ rights and ensure fair compensation for their work.” In recent years, Disney has faced criticism for paying some royalties to artists and writers.
Disney leak revealed details of Aliens Fireteam Elite 2
After the leak, a document regarding Aliens Fireteam Elite 2 circulated on social media. The game, codenamed Project Macondo, is reportedly scheduled to launch in the third quarter of 2025.
The game will serve as a sequel to Aliens Fireteam Elite and will feature new modes such as Annihilation, which will be the game’s take on the Horde modes found in several other shooters.
The document appears to outline the scope of the project, suggesting that it may have been produced some time ago and that some information may be outdated. During the development of a game, several similar documents will be produced.
According to the document, “unlike Aliens Fireteam Elite, Project Macondo will feature fixed, pre-established character archetypes and non-customizable characters.”
At the time of this article’s publication, Disney has not commented on the matter.
