Here is the current coach for AIK.
According to Sportbladet’s information, the club has a dialogue with Fredrikstad’s Mikkkjal Thomassen, who just left the Norwegian club.
During Monday, AIK also confirms that it is in negotiations with Thomassen regarding a possible employment.
AIK has been looking for a coach for a long time and has, among other things, had the German Michael Wimmer high on the wish list.
But there the parties failed to agree.
Now it might be Fredrikstad’s Mikkkjal Thomassen instead. He has resigned from the Norwegian club and a dialogue with AIK is ongoing, as Netteavisen also writes on Monday.
Confirms negotiations
The same newspaper writes that Thomassen is ready for AIK and is expected to be presented this week. The plan is to have him in place as early as tomorrow, Tuesday or Wednesday if nothing unforeseen happens.
Later on Monday, AIK confirmed negotiations with Thomassen.
– It is true that we have ongoing negotiations regarding the possible employment of Mikkkjal Thomassen as the new head coach for AIK Football. I cannot comment more than that at the moment, says sporting director Thomas Berntsen.
Leaving Fredrikstad
Fredrikstad announced during the day that Thomassen has agreed to a new club and that he is thus leaving the Norwegian club.
Thomassen, like Michael Wimmer, is also known for preferring intensity in training and running many training sessions. Exactly in the line that Berntsen sought regarding the new coach.
Tonight, Henok Goitom leads the team away once morest Halmstads BK at Örjans vall, in what is expected to be his last match as head coach for the club.
