“China Must Convince Russia” –

“China must play a positive role, which must be to convince Russia to return to more moderate counsels, therefore to end this season of war”. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani on the sidelines of the NATO summit currently taking place in Washington. “China cannot be a party to the dispute – he added – It must not help Russia but must instead be the party that convinces Russia to back down”, concluded the minister.

The Italian Foreign Minister has underlined the importance of working for freedom and democracy. “It is important to help Ukraine because if it loses to Russia” it will lack “democracy, freedom, the integrity of a country”. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani interviewed by CNN in Spanish on the sidelines of the NATO summit in Washington. “We are working to defend the integrity of a country like Ukraine, which is a candidate to join the European Union and NATO”, added Tajani, underlining the commitment “so that we can reach a table between Russians and Ukrainians to achieve peace”.
