Carlos Prosperi announced his support for the candidacy of Nicolás Maduro

This Saturday, July 13, Carlos Prosperi, former member of the Democratic Action party, declared his support for Nicolás Maduro’s candidacy for re-election.

In a statement, the politician said he made the firm decision to give his support in the middle of the electoral campaign.

“That is why I have made the firm decision, categorically, to give my support to President Nicolás Maduro for re-election to the Presidency of the Republic,” he said.

“After a campaign of misleading offers, when it came to the end, the abuses began, in which we saw the irregularities in the campaign.”

Prosperi stressed that the presidential candidate is the only one who guarantees economic growth and dialogue in the country.

“The only one who can sustain and guarantee dialogue with the parties is President Nicolás Maduro, which is why I give my support to President Maduro for his re-election to the presidency of the Republic,” he said.

He also said that “President Maduro has proposed calling for a national dialogue immediately following his election. I support this proposal and you can count on this servant and my humble contribution to restore peace to the country, through dialogue with all the people of Venezuela.”

He also accused opposition groups of allegedly stealing state money.
