Teenager dead after shooting in Bagarmossen – Housing: “No area is protected”

At 23.23 on Tuesday, the police were alerted to suspicious shooting in the area in southern Stockholm.

– We receive that several shots were fired. When we arrive four minutes later, we find a badly injured young man outside, says Daniel Wikdahl, press spokesperson for the Stockholm police region.

When the police got there, members of the public had started to give first aid. Soon following, paramedics take over and take the person to hospital.

At 04.42 the police announced that the person, who was between 15 and 18 years old, died in the hospital as a result of the injuries. Relatives have been notified.

At 02:40, there was still no one arrested, according to the police.

That’s how the police work now

At seven o’clock on Wednesday morning, the technical investigation was complete but the roadblocks remained.

– We will have an increased police presence in order to create security for residents in the area, says Per Fahlström, police spokesperson.

The incident is classified as murder.

Double shootings during the night

Two hours following the shooting, at 01.18, the police are alerted to Åkersberga north of Stockholm, also then regarding a shooting.

The police see no connection between the shootings at this time.
