Thanasis Veggos passed away in May 2011. In the popular pilgrimage, a large number of people went to pay tribute to this great artist, as well as many actors who had worked with him. However, following the end of the pilgrimage, the body left with the hearse in an unknown direction. All these years everyone was talking regarding various places that he himself had expressed that he wanted to be buried.
Finally, the mystery surrounding the body of Thanasis Veggos is solved following 13 years by his fraternal friend, George Stavropoulos. The actor spoke to Espresso newspaper and Nikos Nikoliza and revealed that “our good man” was never buried, but cremated.
“It’s a big secret that only me and his family know. I don’t know if I can reveal it right now,” said actor Giorgos Stavropoulos initially.
After Nikos Nikolizas mentioned various locations to him without the actor himself speaking at all, he told him regarding cremation with his answer being almost affirmative. “You told me,” said Giorgos Stavropoulos to Nikos Nikolizas, thus making it known that this was the last wish of Thanasis Veggos.
When asked by the journalist where his ashes were thrown, Giorgos Stavropoulos replied: “His children have them at home.”
